About Us

Deri Regeneration Group came together in 1999 and achieved charity status sometime later becoming registered with The Charity Commission for England and Wales.

The Group consists of 100 % volunteers and are the Management Committee of the Community Centre.

The Group initially obtained funding to erect the floodlit Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) with funding from Sportlot.

The next challenge was to transform a waste plot of land into a Memorial Garden – where a Memorial Service is held every year on Remembrance Sunday.

Our final project was to bring educational, social and recreational facilities to the village in the form of a purpose-built Community Centre. This became a reality when funding of £565,000 was obtained and the building was completed in 2007/08. The building is used regularly to house local groups and clubs. Statutory and mandatory bodies  hold training events, seminars etc at the Centre. Family events such as parties and wedding receptions are frequently held at the Centre along with charity events.

Caerphilly County Borough Council  neither own or manage the Centre but provide us with insurance cover and provide both mandatory and statutory checks eg Fire Assessments/Food Hygiene Checks/water safety etc. to ensure public safety. They also partly cover the Caretaker’s wages and fund the Relief Caretaker’s wages.

Utility bills, repairs, waste collection and expenses are paid via hire rates.

CCBC lease the land on which the Centre is built upon to Deri Regeneration Group.

May we remind you that CCTV is now operational in and around the Centre and may be used for monitoring purposes.

Deri Regeneration Group would like to thank you for your continued support in using our wonderful facility.
